Newton 35 GSM Cross Laminated Tarp

Newton’s 35 GSM Cross Laminated Tarp is the lightest grade in our cross-laminated film range, built from multiple layers of high-density polyethylene tape laid in a criss-cross 0°/90° pattern and laminated between two outer film layers. That crossed construction gives the sheet strength in every direction rather than along a single weave axis, so a small puncture stays a puncture instead of running the length of the sheet the way it can on standard woven material.

Despite the low GSM, the film is UV stabilized during extrusion — the stabilizer is compounded into the polymer itself, not coated on afterward — which is the detail that determines whether a light film survives a full outdoor season or chalks and cracks within weeks. Newton tests this grade against IS 14611:2016, with accelerated UV exposure testing run for 192 hours per Annex G to confirm a minimum 50 percent retention of physical properties, backed by lab reports from accredited Asian and American testing facilities.

Blue is the standard stock colour at this weight; other shades can be discussed for bulk orders subject to minimum quantities, and sheet or roll dimensions are cut to the buyer’s specification.

At 35 GSM, this film is built for horticulture and nursery covering, greenhouse and polytunnel applications where diffused light needs to pass through while wind and frost are blocked, mulching support, and other large-area, low-weight covering jobs where a heavier product would be impractical to handle or ship.
