Indian home furnishings in more than twenty crafts

Indian home furnishings are where the colours of India really come alive. Cushions, throws and curtains carry traditional block prints, handloom weaves and hand embroidery from almost every state, and each craft has its own artisanal community behind it.

That variety is wonderful, but it can also feel overwhelming. So we usually start with two simple questions. Do you already have a craft or material in mind? Or are you led more by the look and price point your customers want? Either answer helps us guide you to the right makers.

What our furnishing range covers

Our range includes cushion covers, filled cushions, throws and curtains. Products can be filtered by craft, material, technique and region, so you can compare Ajrakh with ikat or Kantha with Zardozi side by side.

The four families of craft

Hand block prints and natural dyes

Ajrakh from Kutch, Bagru from Rajasthan and Kalamkari from Andhra Pradesh are printed by hand with carved blocks, often in natural dyes. See the Ajrakh cushion cover or Kalamkari cushion cover.

Resist dyeing

Shibori, Bandhani, Leheriya and batik protect parts of the cloth before dyeing. The Shibori throw is a lovely fit for Japandi and Scandinavian interiors.

Hand embroidery

Kantha, Chikankari, Phulkari, Kutch mirror work, Kashmiri crewel and Zardozi are worked by individual artisans. The Zardozi cushion cover and Kantha quilted throw show the range.

Handloom and woven

Pochampally ikat, Banarasi brocade, Mashru, Tussar silk, Bhujodi and Kullu wool are woven on handlooms. Try the Pochampally Ikat throw or Kullu wool throw.

Mixing crafts in one order

Most of our buyers start with three to five crafts across cushions and throws, then reorder the designs that sell. Signature pieces in embroidery can usually be added in smaller numbers inside a larger order.

Colours: what is easy and what takes time

Indigo, madder red, mustard, rust and bright jewel tones are easy for Indian dyers. Soft neutrals such as slate, greige, mushroom and lavender grey often need special dyeing with a minimum quantity and a little time. If you choose from existing colours, we manage all of it.

Who makes our furnishings

A large share comes from artisan cooperatives, self-help groups and small non-profit organisations that exist to keep these crafts alive. Many are too small for formal certifications, so we share what we can: who made the piece, where and how.

Packing and shipping

Every piece is checked, folded and bagged with your label and barcode. Sustainable packing is available. We ship by sea in full or shared containers or by palletised air freight, and quote ex-factory, FOB, CFR or CIF.

Questions about Indian home furnishings

Can I buy in small quantities?

Yes. Minimums are per design and colour and are kept modest for handmade pieces.

Can you make my own designs?

Yes. Printers can carve blocks, embroiderers can work from artwork and weavers can adapt patterns. Choosing existing designs is quicker.

Do you offer private label?

Yes, with woven labels, tags and branded packaging as standard.
