Ceramic cups and mugs from India are thrown and glazed by hand in Khurja and other pottery clusters, alongside enamelware, copper tumblers and kulhad-style terracotta cups. Reactive glazes give every mug a slightly different finish.Cafes, coffee roasters and gift companies buy them with their own logo or glaze colour. Mugs travel well when packed in cell cartons, and they pair naturally with our coasters and trays in a gift set.

Ceramic cups and mugs from India, made by hand

Ceramic cups and mugs from India are thrown, trimmed and glazed by hand, so every mug has its own personality. Alongside stoneware, we supply enamel mugs, hammered copper tumblers and kulhad-style terracotta cups that carry the feel of an Indian chai stall.

Most buyers who ask us about mugs fall into one of two groups: cafes and coffee brands that want their own glaze or logo, and retailers who want a beautiful handmade range on the shelf. Tell us which one you are, and we will guide you accordingly.

What we offer

Stoneware mugs

Made in Khurja and other pottery clusters, stoneware mugs come in reactive glazes, speckled finishes and two-tone dips. They are sturdy, lead-free and usually dishwasher safe.

Enamel mugs

Bright, light and unbreakable, enamel mugs suit camping, outdoor and retro-styled ranges.

Copper and brass drinkware

Hammered copper tumblers and brass cups are traditional in Indian homes and popular with wellness and gift buyers.

Terracotta kulhads

Unglazed clay cups inspired by roadside chai, kulhads are a fun, sustainable product for cafes and events.

Custom glazes and logos

Cafes love having their own colour. Potters can develop a custom glaze with a minimum per colour and some trial firings, and we can add a logo by decal or stamp. We will be honest about timing: getting a new glaze exactly right takes a few weeks, especially for soft greys and muted earth tones.

Sizes and shapes

We supply espresso cups, standard 300 ml mugs, large 450 ml mugs, tumblers and cups with saucers. Handles, rims and bases can be adjusted on custom orders.

Building a range

Mugs pair naturally with coasters, trays and side plates in the same glaze. A mug with two coasters makes an easy gift set, and our tea towels complete a kitchen bundle.

Minimum quantities and packing

Minimums are per design and glaze and stay modest for ready designs. Mugs travel in cell cartons to prevent breakage, and we quote ex-factory, FOB, CFR or CIF by sea or air.

Questions about mugs from India

Can I get mugs with my cafe’s logo?

Yes, by decal or stamp, on most stoneware designs.

Are stoneware mugs microwave safe?

Most are. Metallic and lustre glazes are not, and we always confirm before production.

Do you supply mugs in gift boxes?

Yes, singly or in pairs with coasters, in printed boxes with your branding.

What affects the price of handmade mugs

Three things move the price most: the clay body, the glaze and the size. Stoneware costs more than earthenware but lasts far longer. Reactive and dipped glazes take extra firings, and large mugs use more clay and kiln space. Decals and logos add a small amount per piece, mostly in set-up for the first run.

Testing a new mug range

If you are new to Indian ceramics, start with two shapes in three or four glazes rather than many designs. It keeps minimums low, shows you which colours your customers like, and makes reordering simple.

Tell us a little about your cafe or store and the mood you want on the shelf, and we will suggest glazes that fit.
