Cotton napkins from India add colour and craft to a table at a small price point. Our napkins are hand block printed with natural dyes in Kutch, woven on handlooms in Telangana, or hand embroidered in Lucknow, then hemmed with mitred corners.Restaurants favour patterned napkins because they hide stains and last longer between replacements. Retailers sell them in sets of four or six, often with a matching runner.

Cotton napkins from India: a small luxury on the table

Cotton napkins from India are one of the simplest ways to bring colour and craft to a table. They are affordable, they are used every day, and a set of hand block printed or handloom napkins instantly makes a meal feel special.

When buyers ask about napkins, we like to know where they will be used. Restaurants want patterns that hide stains and survive laundering. Gift shops want beautiful sets that look good in a box. Wedding planners want white embroidery. Each points to a different craft.

The napkins we offer

Hand block printed napkins

The Ajrakh napkin set is printed by hand in Kutch with natural indigo and madder dyes. Mixing two or three Ajrakh designs within one set gives a lovely collected look.

Handloom ikat napkins

The Pochampally Ikat napkin set is woven from tie-dyed yarn, so the pattern never washes out. It is a practical favourite for cafes.

Embroidered napkins

The Chikankari napkin set carries a delicate white-on-white corner motif hand embroidered in Lucknow. Monograms can be added for weddings and hotels.

Napkins in sets

Napkins also come with placemats in our Kalamkari set and Bagru set.

Sizes and finishing

Standard dinner napkins are 45 x 45 cm, with 50 x 50 cm for larger formats and smaller cocktail sizes on request. Edges are double hemmed with mitred corners, or hemstitched for embroidered styles.

Restaurant and hotel use

For hospitality, we suggest yarn-dyed or printed cotton in darker grounds, which hides stains and stretches the life of each napkin. Loose napkins by the dozen are easier to replace than sets.

Colours

Indigo, madder, black and white, and the bright colours of India are easy. Soft neutrals may need special dyeing with a minimum quantity.

Coordinating with other linen

Napkins pair naturally with runners, tablecloths and table mats. We can print or weave all of them from the same design so the table matches.

Minimum quantities and packing

Minimums are per design and colour and are kept modest. Sets are folded, banded or boxed with your branding. You can choose ex-factory, FOB, CFR or CIF pricing.

Questions about napkins from India

Can I add a monogram or logo?

Yes. Embroidered monograms and simple logos are possible on most napkins.

Will natural dye napkins bleed?

A little bleed in the first wash is normal. Washing cold and separately is recommended.

Do you sell napkins loose for restaurants?

Yes, by the dozen in a single colourway so replacements always match.

How many napkins to stock

For retail, sets of four sell more easily than sets of six, and two or three designs per craft is enough to test demand. Restaurants usually need three napkins per cover to allow for laundering, so it helps to order with that rotation in mind.

Tell us where your napkins will be used, and we will suggest the right craft and finish.
