Indian bedcovers turn a plain bed into the focal point of a room. Our bedcovers include hand block printed cotton from Jaipur and Bagru, Kantha stitched layers from West Bengal, appliqué from Barmer and embroidered designs, in single, double, queen and king sizes. They double as wall hangings and throws, which widens their appeal in retail. We can coordinate bedcovers with pillow covers and cushion covers in the same print.

Indian bedcovers: the statement piece of the bedroom

Indian bedcovers turn a plain bed into the heart of a room. A hand block printed bedcover in soft indigo, a layered Kantha in faded saris or a bold appliqué piece from Rajasthan brings colour, texture and a story that factory bedding rarely has.

When buyers ask us for bedcovers, we usually want to understand the mood of their store first. Calm and minimal? Bohemian and layered? Traditional and colourful? Each one leads to a different craft.

The crafts we offer in bedcovers

Hand block printed cotton

Printed by hand in Jaipur and Bagru, these are the classic Indian bedcovers: small florals, buttis, paisleys and bold medallions in natural and synthetic dyes. They are light, breathable and easy to wash.

Kantha bedcovers

Layers of cotton or recycled saris held together by thousands of hand running stitches, made by women artisans in West Bengal. Every Kantha is reversible, and recycled sari versions are one of a kind. Our Kantha throws use the same technique in a smaller size.

Appliqué and patchwork

Cut-fabric motifs stitched onto cotton, from Barmer in Rajasthan and Pipli in Odisha. Bright, joyful and perfect for children’s rooms and bohemian interiors.

Embroidered bedcovers

Chikankari, mirror work and crewel embroidery for premium ranges.

Sizes

We supply single, double, queen and king sizes, with typical sizes from 150 x 225 cm to 275 x 275 cm. Custom sizes are easy to arrange.

More than a bedcover

Many customers use Indian bedcovers as wall hangings, sofa throws, picnic blankets or tablecloths. Mentioning this on your product page widens the appeal.

Coordinating the bed

Bedcovers look best with matching pillow covers and cushion covers in the same print, and a dohar or quilt folded at the foot of the bed.

Colours

Existing colours are quickest. Soft modern neutrals such as greige and slate are possible but may need special dyeing with a minimum quantity.

Minimum quantities and packing

Minimums are per design and size. Kantha and appliqué are made in smaller batches. Bedcovers are folded, packed in cloth or paper bags with your label, and shipped by sea or air. Quotes are available ex-factory, FOB, CFR or CIF.

Questions about Indian bedcovers

Are block printed bedcovers machine washable?

Most are, on a gentle cold cycle. We print the care advice on your labels.

Can I order identical Kantha bedcovers?

Yes, in new printed cotton. Recycled sari Kantha is always one of a kind and sold in mixed lots.

Can you match pillow covers and cushions?

Yes, from the same blocks or fabric.

What affects the price of a bedcover

Size, fabric weight and the number of colours in the print matter most. Hand block prints with many colours take more passes on the table, while Kantha and appliqué are priced on the hours of stitching. We will always show you where a small change, such as fewer colours or a plain border, can bring the price down.

Tell us the feel of your bedroom range and we will suggest a few bedcover crafts to start with.
