An indigo Dabu dohar has its outer cotton layers printed with mud resist paste and dipped in indigo, giving pale patterns on deep blue with a gentle crackle. The three layers are stitched together into a light, soft blanket.
Dabu is an age-old craft of the artisanal communities of Akola and Bagru, related to traditional block prints but using mud as a resist. The Indian fabric takes on deep indigo, one of the oldest colours of India, and patterns are ethnic in origin but laid out in a contemporary style. Every handicraft dohar is unique.

Questions
Will the indigo Dabu dohar fade?
Natural indigo softens gently with washing.
Can we get matching bedcovers?
Yes, Dabu bedcovers and cushions.
Is the indigo natural?
Yes, we use natural indigo for Dabu, and can provide a dye declaration. Synthetic indigo is available for lower price points if needed.
How long does a Dabu dohar order take?
Allow 60 to 75 days. Dabu printing depends on sun drying between stages, so the monsoon months can add a week or two, and we plan production around that so your season dates hold.
