Ceramic Espresso Cups

Ceramic espresso cups need thick walls to hold heat, and stoneware is ideal. Ours are thrown or jiggered in Khurja with a heavy base and slightly tapered wall that keeps crema intact, then glazed in reactive colours.

Khurja’s artisanal communities practise an age-old craft, and small cups are a test of a potter’s skill. We make them in a contemporary style, handled or handleless, and in glazes inspired by the colours of India: coffee brown, saffron, indigo and stone. Every Indian handicraft cup varies slightly, and an ethnic hand-painted rim is available on request.

Questions

Are the ceramic espresso cups suitable for machines?

Yes, they fit under most espresso machine spouts.

Can you match our cafe colour?

Yes, custom glazes are possible from 500 cups.

Do you sell espresso saucers and larger cups in the same glaze?

Yes. Saucers, cappuccino cups, latte mugs and small milk jugs are all made in the same reactive glazes, so a cafe can order a complete coffee service in one colour story. Mixed orders are welcome, and each item can be bought as open stock to replace breakages later.
