Hammered Brass Tray

A hammered brass tray starts as flat brass sheet that a Moradabad metalworker shapes over a stake, striking it hundreds of times with a ball-peen hammer until the surface is covered in small facets. Those dimples scatter light, which is why the tray looks rich even on a plain console or coffee table.

Moradabad is known as Peetal Nagri, the brass city, and its artisanal communities have practised this age-old craft for over 400 years. We keep the form simple and contemporary in style, so the handicraft texture does the work. Polished gold suits classic and ethnic interiors, while antique and matt finishes sit well in modern rooms, and both carry the warm metallic colours of India that buyers associate with Indian decor.

Where the Brass Tray Sells

Decor stores use the hammered brass tray as a styling base for candles, perfume bottles and bar sets. Hotels and restaurants order larger rounds for lobby tables and drinks service, and festive gift ranges pair it with brass diyas and tea light holders.

Export Supply and Freight

Each tray is lacquered after polishing, wrapped in tissue and foam and packed in five-ply cartons so the finish arrives unscratched. Moradabad cargo moves to Nhava Sheva or via ICD Moradabad, on ex-factory, FOB, CFR or CIF terms.

Questions

Will the hammered brass tray tarnish?

The lacquer slows tarnish considerably. Unlacquered brass is available if you prefer a patina that develops naturally.

What is the minimum order?

Usually 100 pieces per size and finish, mixed across sizes on the same order.
