Galvanized Iron (GI) Pipes

Galvanized Iron (GI) Pipes from Newton are hot-dip galvanized, electric resistance welded (ERW) steel pipes engineered for long-term corrosion resistance in outdoor, underground and wet-service environments. Manufactured from high-frequency induction welded mild steel strip and finished with a uniform zinc coating through a hot-dip galvanizing process, these pipes are built to withstand harsh weather, moisture and soil conditions without compromising strength or dimensional accuracy.

Available in Light, Medium and Heavy classes as per IS 1239 (Part 1), and also produced to IS 3589 and equivalent ASTM/BS specifications on request, Newton’s GI Pipes cover a nominal bore range of 15mm (1/2″) through to 600mm (24″ NB), with wall thicknesses tailored to each class and application. The zinc coating is applied after pickling to remove mill scale and surface impurities, ensuring excellent adhesion and a consistent, blemish-free galvanized finish that meets international quality benchmarks.

These pipes are widely specified for potable water distribution networks, agricultural and borewell irrigation systems, fire-fighting pipelines, HVAC ducting supports, fencing, scaffolding, and general structural framework in construction. Their corrosion resistance makes them the preferred choice where pipes are exposed to the elements or buried underground, while their strength-to-weight ratio suits both residential plumbing and large infrastructure projects.

Newton offers GI Pipes in plain-end, threaded-and-coupled, and socket-end configurations, packed and bundled with size, grade and batch markings for easy identification at the project site. Every batch is tested for zinc coating thickness, dimensional tolerance and mechanical properties before dispatch, in line with BIS licensing norms and international buyer specifications.
