The 70 GSM PP weed mat is the lightest woven polypropylene grade we export, at 70 g/m² ±5% with UV stabiliser added to the tape. Grab tensile is about 465 N in both directions, which is plenty for a bed that gets pinned down once and covered with bark, gravel or chippings. At only 7.0 kg per 100 m² it covers more ground per tonne than any other grade in the range. Typical Uses for 70 GSM Weed Control Ground Cover
Garden centres and DIY chains buy 70 GSM mostly as consumer rolls of 1 m x 10 m or 2 m x 25 m. It suits kitchen gardens, shrub borders, patio and path sub-bases, and one or two season vegetable beds. My honest view: do not sell it for open, uncovered use over several summers or for areas with wheelbarrow traffic. Step up to 90 or 100 GSM for that.

What are the key specifications of the 70 GSM PP weed mat?
Woven black polypropylene at 70 g/m² ±5%, UV stabilised, grab tensile about 465 N MD/CD, trapezoidal tear about 205 N and CBR puncture around 1215 N. Water and air pass through the weave, sunlight does not.
Should I choose 70 GSM or the 90 GSM weed mat?
Pick 90 GSM if the fabric will stay uncovered or carry foot traffic. It weighs 90 g/m², gives roughly 600 N grab tensile and tolerates more handling. Stay with 70 GSM for mulched beds and price-led retail packs.
Which shipping documents come with an export order?
Commercial invoice, packing list with roll count and gross weight, certificate of origin and the batch technical data sheet. Pre-shipment inspection by SGS, Bureau Veritas or Intertek can be arranged at the buyer’s cost.
How long is a price quote valid?
Usually around two weeks. Polypropylene resin prices move with crude, so a quote older than that is re-checked with the mill before we issue a proforma invoice.
What do you need from me to quote?
Width, roll length, marker line colour and spacing, packing (bulk rolls or retail packs with your printed label), quantity and destination port. With that we come back with ex-factory, FOB, CFR or CIF prices.
