D.P. Wires IS 6006:2014 Class 2 Normal Relaxation PC Strand

The D.P. Wires IS 6006:2014 Class 2 Normal Relaxation PC Strand is D.P. Wires Limited’s answer to applications that need the slightly tighter dimensional tolerance band of Class 2 while still running on a normal relaxation grade rather than a stabilised low-relaxation product.

Certified to IS 6006:2014, Class 2, the strand is available across breaking loads that climb from 102.3 kN at 9.5 mm to 260.7 kN at 15.2 mm, again against a minimum elongation of 3.5% and the same 12–16d lay length used across D.P. Wires’ IS 6006 range.

On site, the D.P. Wires IS 6006:2014 Class 2 Normal Relaxation PC Strand is most often used in precast segment casting yards and general contractor supply where IS 6006 Class 2 tolerances are called out specifically in the project’s material schedule.

Quality assurance for the D.P. Wires IS 6006:2014 Class 2 Normal Relaxation PC Strand runs through its own in-house physical, mechanical and metallurgical testing laboratory, run under an IS/ISO 9001:2015 quality system that traces back to D.P. Wires’ original ISO 9001:2008 certification by the Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JAS-ANZ) in December 2003. Finished coils are strapped at six points, wrapped in VPI paper, LD-polythene film and one-side laminated bituminised jute before leaving the Ratlam plant.

Storage guidance for the D.P. Wires IS 6006:2014 Class 2 Normal Relaxation PC Strand: cut only with an abrasive disc cutter or shear cutter, never with a flame or welding torch, since heat changes the steel’s microstructure and its mechanical properties. Coils should be unloaded with a crane rather than dropped off the vehicle, stored under cover on a raised platform away from direct ground or water contact, and protected with a vapour phase inhibitor if they will sit on site for an extended period before stressing.
