Pairing higher load-bearing capacity with corrosion resistance in one bar reduces the trade-offs engineers usually have to make when specifying reinforcement for coastal projects. JSW built the Neosteel CRS line around this idea, offering four grades, Fe500D CRS, Fe550D CRS, Fe600 CRS, and Fe650 CRS, so specifiers can match strength class to load requirement without giving up corrosion protection at any level.

Neosteel 550D CRS combines Fe550D-level mechanical performance with the anti-corrosive alloying chemistry used throughout the CRS range, tested for consistency using the same HYQST rolling technology applied to JSW’s standard Fe550D grade. The bar’s refined microstructure is engineered specifically for longevity in demanding environmental conditions, resisting the volumetric expansion and cracking that ordinary rebar undergoes when corrosion sets into concrete over time. As with the rest of the Neosteel range, pure virgin iron ore input keeps sulphur and phosphorus at ultra-low levels, and the rib profile is designed for maximum stress transfer and bonding strength with the surrounding cement.

Production takes place at JSW’s zero-effluent-discharge, GreenPro-certified facilities, giving the CRS range the same sustainability credentials as JSW’s standard TMT grades. Newton Exports supplies Neosteel 550D CRS in 8mm to 32mm diameters, matched to the same application set as JSW’s standard 550D grade, coastal buildings, ports, industrial structures, and other high-load marine infrastructure, but built specifically for environments where corrosion resistance is a project requirement rather than an added precaution.
