Crewel embroidered curtains are stitched by hand with fine wool yarn on sturdy cotton, using an aari hook to create flowing vines, leaves and birds. They add texture and heritage to traditional and country interiors.
Crewel work is an age-old craft of the artisanal communities of Kashmir. We offer ethnic tree of life designs and contemporary style single-colour crewel. Wool colours span earthy and jewel colours of India, and the Indian fabric can be paired with traditional block prints on cushions. Each handicraft panel takes weeks of stitching.
