Sheer Voile Curtains

Sheer voile curtains are made from fine, loosely woven cotton voile that lets light in while giving daytime privacy. They are often layered behind heavier curtains or used alone in sunny rooms and holiday homes.

Voile weaving is part of the age-old craft of fine Indian cotton, and our curtains are finished by artisanal communities in Jaipur and Lucknow. We offer plain white in a contemporary style, as well as traditional block prints and ethnic Chikankari embroidery. Soft colours of India such as blush and sky add gentle tint, and each handicraft panel uses fine Indian fabric.

Questions

Do sheer voile curtains give privacy?

They give daytime privacy; add lined curtains for night.

Can you embroider voile?

Yes, with Chikankari or machine embroidery.

What drops are available?

Standard 213 to 274 cm, custom on request.

Can they be hung outdoors?

Yes, on verandas and pergolas, though sun will soften them over time.

How many voile panels are needed for a window?

As a guide, the total panel width should be about twice the window width for a soft gathered look, so a 140 cm window usually takes two panels.
