Carved Wooden Elephant

A carved wooden elephant is carved by hand from a single block of wood, with details of the trunk, ears and decoration cut with chisels. Natural or painted finishes give a warm, handmade feel.

Woodcarving is an age-old craft of the artisanal communities of Saharanpur and Karnataka. Elephants are ethnic in form, with contemporary style smooth versions available. Painted elephants carry the bright colours of India, and each Indian handicraft figurine is carved by hand.

Yes.

Can you paint them?

Yes, in bright or pastel colours.

Do you make family sets?

Yes, sets of three sizes.

Is the wood certified?

Legal timber documents are available.

What is the minimum order?

Around 100 pieces.

How should wooden figurines be cared for?

Dust them with a soft dry brush or cloth and keep them away from damp and direct sun, which can dry or fade the wood. A little natural oil once a year keeps the grain rich and prevents cracking. Painted elephants should only be wiped gently to protect the colours.

Which sizes sell best?
