A Ralli quilt is made by layering old cotton cloth, then piecing and appliqueing bold geometric shapes on top and stitching the whole quilt in fine running stitch. Patterns are built from triangles, squares and cutwork in strong contrasting colours.
Ralli making is an age-old craft of the women’s artisanal communities of Kutch and Sindh, traditionally stitched for dowries. Each quilt uses Indian fabric scraps, sometimes with traditional block prints in the borders, in the strong colours of India: red, black, yellow and indigo. The ethnic geometry looks strikingly contemporary in style, and every handicraft Ralli is unique.

Questions
Is each Ralli quilt unique?
Yes, every Ralli is designed and stitched individually.
How many can you supply?
Supply is limited; we offer curated lots of 10 to 50 pieces.
Can a Ralli quilt be used on a bed every day?
Yes, it is a sturdy layered cotton quilt. Many owners use it as a bedspread or throw, though collectors often prefer to hang it as textile art to keep the colours fresh. Air it in shade and avoid harsh detergents to preserve the stitching and fabrics.
