Wooden Charcuterie Board

A wooden charcuterie board is a thick slab of hardwood shaped for serving cheese, cured meats, fruit and bread. Ours are cut from acacia or mango wood in Saharanpur, planed flat, given a paddle handle with a leather loop, and finished with food-grade mineral oil so they are ready to use straight out of the box.

Saharanpur woodworkers belong to artisanal communities whose age-old craft once went into carved screens and furniture. Today the same hands make boards in a clean contemporary style, with live-edge, rounded or paddle shapes, and optional ethnic carving on the handle. The grain shows the warm wood colours of India, and as a handicraft product each Indian board has its own figure and tone.
