Mother of Pearl Vanity Tray

A mother of pearl vanity tray is made by cutting shell into small pieces, fitting them over a wooden base and setting them in resin before polishing. The shell shows a soft rainbow shimmer that changes as you move, which makes even a small tray feel luxurious on a dressing table.

Shell inlay is an age-old craft of Rajasthan, practised by the same artisanal communities who work bone inlay. We make it in a clean contemporary style, with herringbone, chevron and plain mosaic patterns, alongside a few ethnic floral layouts. Instead of the vivid colours of India, this handicraft relies on pearly whites and greys, an Indian luxury piece that suits spas and hotel bathrooms.
