Quilted Velvet Quilt

A quilted velvet quilt combines a soft cotton velvet top with light wadding and a cotton back, stitched in channels or diamonds. Velvet catches light differently as it moves, so the quilting lines stand out and the bed looks layered and rich.

Velvet stitching and quilting draw on the age-old craft of Indian upholstery and royal bedding, and Jaipur artisanal communities finish each quilt by hand. Colours lean toward the jewel colours of India, emerald, rust, mustard and indigo, while the design is contemporary in style. We can back the Indian fabric with traditional block prints for an ethnic surprise, and each handicraft quilt is hand finished at the edges.

Questions

Is the quilted velvet quilt warm?

It is mid-weight, warm enough for cool nights or as a top layer in winter.

Do you make velvet shams?

Yes, in matching colours.

Which velvet quilt colours sell best?

Emerald, rust and mustard lead in Europe and the US, with dusty pink and navy close behind. We suggest starting with three colours and adding more once sell-through is clear.
