Our Chikankari cushion cover is hand embroidered in Lucknow on fine cotton or a cotton-linen blend. The design is printed in washable blue ink, then worked with stitches such as bakhiya, where thread on the reverse shows through as a soft shadow, and phanda, small French-knot clusters that give texture.
White on white is the classic look, but we also embroider ivory on oatmeal, white on pale grey and soft pastel threads on white. The fabric is lined behind the embroidery so the shadow effect remains visible while the cover keeps its shape. A concealed zip finishes the bottom edge.
