Weavers align the pre-dyed threads pass by pass, and the pattern appears with the soft, slightly blurred edges that define genuine ikat. The design is visible on both sides, so the runner can be flipped.
We weave a heavier cotton for runners so they lie flat on the table, and leave short fringes at the ends or finish with a hem. Black and white, indigo and white, and mustard and grey are the core colours. Placemats and napkins can be woven to match.
