Chikankari napkins are hand embroidered in and around Lucknow. Artisans work a small floral or paisley motif in one corner, or a delicate border along all four sides, using shadow work, satin stitch and tiny knots in white cotton thread on white or ivory cloth.
We embroider on fine cotton cambric for a soft, light napkin, or on linen-cotton for more body and a crisper fold. Edges are finished with a hemstitch or narrow hem. The understated look is perfect for weddings, anniversaries and restaurants that want a classic white table with a handmade touch.
