SAW, LSAW and DSAW Large Diameter Pipes from Newton are submerged-arc-welded steel pipes manufactured for long-distance oil and gas pipelines, water transmission mains and large structural piling applications where diameters exceed what seamless or ERW processes can economically produce. Formed from heavy-gauge steel plate and welded under a submerged arc process, these pipes deliver consistent weld quality and mechanical performance across very large diameters.
SAW / LSAW / DSAW Large Diameter Pipes
Newton manufactures Large Diameter Pipes to API 5L PSL1 and PSL2, Grade B through X70, in diameters from approximately 16″ (400mm) up to 100″ (2540mm) OD, with wall thicknesses from 6mm to 40mm depending on diameter and design pressure. Pipes are available as single seam (LSAW), double seam (DSAW) or helical seam (SAW/HSAW) construction, formed by UOE, JCOE or spiral forming processes depending on diameter and specification, followed by internal and external submerged arc welding and full weld seam inspection.
These pipes are the standard choice for cross-country oil and gas transmission pipelines, city and regional water transmission mains, marine and offshore pipeline sections, and large-diameter structural piling for bridges, ports and foundation work. Their large diameter and heavy wall capability allow a single pipe class to handle high-volume flow or heavy structural loads that smaller-diameter pipe cannot economically achieve.
Every pipe undergoes 100% weld seam radiographic or ultrasonic inspection, hydrostatic testing, dimensional verification and mechanical property testing (tensile, Charpy impact, hardness), with mill test certificates issued against API 5L requirements. External anti-corrosion coating (3LPE, FBE, coal tar enamel) and internal epoxy lining can be arranged to match pipeline specification.
Newton sources SAW/LSAW/DSAW Large Diameter Pipe from API-monogrammed Indian mills with UOE and JCOE forming capability, managing diameter, grade, coating and testing specifications into fully documented export shipments for pipeline EPC contractors and infrastructure buyers.
