Shibori Indigo Throw

The Shibori throw is dyed in Jaipur and Bagru indigo workshops. Each large piece of cotton is folded, clamped between wooden blocks, wrapped around poles or stitched and gathered, then dipped repeatedly in indigo. When the cloth is opened, the protected areas reveal pale grids, diagonal stripes or circles against deep blue.

Because of its size, a throw shows the rhythm of the Shibori pattern beautifully, and no two throws are exactly alike. We use a soft, medium-weight cotton or a cotton slub for texture, with hemmed or fringed edges. Natural indigo is offered for premium orders, synthetic indigo for consistent volume.
