BOQ Sourcing India: Materials for EPC & MEP Projects

BOQ sourcing India starts with one document: the Bill of Quantities. Every construction project – a residential tower, a hospital, a port, a highway, an airport, or an industrial park – runs on it, and once a BOQ moves from paper to procurement, it becomes a sourcing problem for whoever is running the project on the ground.

That’s the problem Newton Exports solves. EPC contractors, MEP contractors, and project managers send us their BOQs, and we turn them into sourced, consolidated, export-ready shipments from India – priced, packed, and shipped to site.

Every Project Runs on Multiple BOQs

An architectural firm designs a project and issues drawings along with one or more BOQs. Large projects rarely have just one. There’s typically a BOQ for civil works, another for MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing), often a separate one for low-voltage systems, and sometimes one for interiors and furniture.

Each of these BOQs is really a shopping list of very different products:

  • A bridge or infrastructure project may call for LRPC strand wire, structural steel, and specialized concrete-related components.
  • An industrial development zone may need power cables, RMUs, transformers, and pipe systems for utilities.
  • A hospital project may require PPR pipes, CPVC pipes and fittings, PEX pipes, and medical oxygen connectors.
  • A street lighting project may need poles, luminaires, and the associated electrical items.

No two BOQs look alike, and a single project can generate dozens of them across trades.

The Problem: Sourcing Everything Locally Is Slow and Expensive

For a construction team sitting in Africa, the Middle East, Europe, or Southeast Asia, sourcing every line item on a BOQ locally, in small quantities, from scattered suppliers is often difficult and expensive. Prices vary, lead times are unpredictable, and someone has to chase multiple vendors for what should be one consolidated order.

This is exactly the gap EPC contractors, MEP contractors, and turnkey project managers ask us to close.

The BOQ Sourcing India Process, Step by Step

  • Send us the BOQ. Whichever format it’s in – civil, MEP, low-voltage, interiors, or anything else –  our teams reviews it.
  • We split it by product category. Our internal teams are organized around product types, so a single BOQ gets distributed to the people who know that category best.
  • We source rates directly from manufacturers. We work directly with brands and manufacturers across India to get current pricing for each item.
  • We return a fully priced BOQ. You get back a structured, priced document covering the full list, ready for your approval. If you need FOB or CIF rates, we can offer both.
  • We consolidate, package, and ship. Once the order is confirmed, we bring everything into our warehouse, label and package it for export, stuff it into containers, and ship it to your port.

There is no cost to send us a BOQ and receive a quote. You only commit once you place the order.

Why India for Construction Material Sourcing

India has a manufacturing base built around its own large-scale construction sector – highways, metros, industrial corridors, and housing projects at a scale few countries match. The same manufacturers supplying cement plants, hospitals, and industrial parks within India are already set up to export. That existing capacity, combined with our relationships across these manufacturers, is what lets us assemble a multi-category BOQ from a single point of contact instead of you managing ten different vendors.

Built on Years of End-to-End Project Experience

Newton Exports isn’t sourcing materials as a middleman working from a catalog. Our founders have been directly involved in end-to-end execution of construction projects – hospitals, large residential developments, schools, highways, industrial sheds, and township developments – both within India and beyond. That means the sourcing decisions we make come from having actually run procurement on projects like the ones our clients are building, not just from taking orders.

That experience has also built something that can’t be replicated quickly: relationships with over 300 manufacturers across India. These aren’t cold introductions – these are manufacturers who understand how we work, what we expect on speed, consistency, quality, and on-time delivery, and who deliver accordingly.

The same experience carries through to logistics. Our team handles container stuffing, labeling, documentation, and port clearance as a matter of routine, not as an afterthought. We work with large multinational shipping lines, which gives us competitive rates on CIF shipments, and for FOB shipments we manage clearance and on-time container loading at the port ourselves. Nothing about getting your order from our warehouse onto a vessel is left to chance.

Shipping Timelines You Should Plan Around

Two timelines matter when you send us a BOQ:

  1. Manufacturing lead time:
Most manufacturers produce against orders rather than holding full stock, so sourcing typically takes two to four weeks before the goods reach our warehouse.

  2. Shipping transit time from India:
    – Middle East: around 3 weeks
    – Southeast Asia: 3 to 4 weeks
    – Africa: 4 to 5 weeks
    – Europe: 5 to 6 weeks

Factoring both into your project schedule from the start avoids surprises later.

Consolidation and Ports

We stock, label, and package incoming material at our warehouses in New Delhi or in Bhiwandi near Mumbai, then stuff it into containers for export. Shipments move out through the New Delhi ICD (onward via Nhava Sheva or Mundra port) or directly via Nhava Sheva / Mundra port, depending on the cargo and destination. Some factory direct shipments move from Chennai port and some agri commodities are sent from Cochin port too.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a BOQ and why does Newton Exports need it?

A Bill of Quantities is the itemized list of materials and quantities an architect or contractor issues for a project. We use it to identify exactly which products to source and quote, category by category.

No. There is no cost to send us a BOQ and receive a priced quote back.

Yes. A single BOQ often spans pipes, cables, steel, and equipment – our teams split it internally by category and consolidate the sourcing into one shipment.

Primarily Nhava Sheva and Mundra, via our warehouses in New Delhi and near Mumbai.

We also ship from Chennai and Cochin, depending on the items.

Typically 2–4 weeks for manufacturing/sourcing, plus 3–6 weeks of transit depending on destination (Middle East ~3 weeks, Southeast Asia 3–4 weeks, Africa 4–5 weeks, Europe 5–6 weeks).

Start Your BOQ Sourcing India Request
